Are You Following God’s Plan?

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11

God has a plan for your relationships, home and career. You just have to make His will the will of your life. Of course, this is sometimes easier said than done. Life gets hectic for all of us, and many times we put God’s will on the back burner of our lives. It’s good to develop a habit of recommitting every day to following the steps God has ordained for your life.

According to Dr. Charles F. Stanley, senior pastor of First Baptist Church Atlanta, founder of In Touch Ministries, and a New York Times bestselling author, below is how you can honor Jeremiah 29:11 in your life:

  • Understand what God has called you to be and do.
  • Ask for God’s guidance every day.
  • Apply scripture to everyday life.
  • Ask advice only from people who live a righteous lives.
  • Listen to your conscience.
  • When you feel restless, ask God through prayer what he is trying to tell you.
  • Accept that God sometimes reveals His will in unusual ways.
  • Read the Bible and know the Bible.
  • If you’re too busy to pray, you need to reevaluate your priorities.

When you apply biblical principles to all decisions, you will know God’s will for your life. Your own plans can’t compare to the good things the Father has in store. The wisest thing you can do is obey God, and leave all the consequences to Him. – Dr. Charles F. Stanley
