Randall Lewis, PhD 

Professor of Business, Chair of the Finance Department 

Bio 

Randall Lewis has worked as a professor of finance, economics and international business at Spring Arbor University for 33 years. He is Chair of the Finance Department and Director of the TRUE Community Credit Union Trading Center. He teaches both in the undergraduate finance program and the MBA program where he has developed much of the curriculum. He holds a doctorate from Michigan State University, an MBA in finance and a bachelor’s degree in accounting. His dissertation was a comparison between U.S. and Japanese automobile suppliers. He has worked as an Accountant, Financial Analyst, Controller and Auditor for LaBelle Management, Columbia Gas Systems, Dana Corporation and H.K. Porter, Inc. 

He has traveled to Cuba, England, Ireland, Scotland, Jamaica, France, Germany, Ukraine, China, and Russia attending conferences, teaching finance and leading students. Integral in the funding, design and operation of the C.P. Federal Credit Union Securities Trading Center, Randall has developed a course that focuses on New York financial markets including a floor tour of the New York Stock Exchange. Randall takes students to New York City for a financial district and corporate tour several times per year. He also advises students in the management of a student run mutual fund called the Student Managed Investment Fund. Randall works with small student cell groups teaching students how to invest their own funds. He developed an undergraduate CFP Board approved Financial Planning major started in the Fall of 2021.
