Lisa Marquette

Assistant Professor of Social Work

Bio

Professor Lisa Marquette lived and worked in southeast Michigan most of her career, but most recently in Ohio. Licensed in both Michigan and Ohio, she is the lead faculty for the Metro Toledo Global site. A social worker for almost 20 years, she says there is not anything else she would want to do! Professor Marquette has worked in a variety of settings with a variety of populations. She has taught social work at SAU since 2014, and thoroughly enjoys it. In her spare time, she loves spending time with family and friends.

Professor Marquette says her Christian faith definitely played a part in choosing social work, or it choosing her. She has always wanted to help improve others’ lives as she has been blessed. Jesus Christ is the perspective for learning, personally and professionally and that drew her to Spring Arbor. She believe in SAU’s concept and knows that social work values and Biblical values align closely. Professor Marquette is a firm believer in personal growth and self-development so we can be effective as professionals, and the best we can be – emotionally, mentally, socially and spiritually. As Christian social workers, we are in a unique position to affect change in all areas of someone’s life!
