Sharon Bailey

Coordinator of Faculty Services and Curriculum

Another recent addition to the department, Sharon Bailey works behind the scenes to create and maintain online courses. Before coming to SAU Online, Bailey held several teaching positions, including teaching German at a high school in St. Petersburg, Russia, and English at Universität Flensburg. She was an assistant professor of English and humanities at Eastern Kentucky University. She has several degrees, including two master’s degrees and a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Pennsylvania State University. Bailey’s extensive teaching and education experience has helped her to understand what is needed in course development and what is expected from an instructor. Working with administrators, departments and instructors, Bailey handles the great responsibility of coordinating course development and ensuring that all aspects of online coursework is planned. “I like to bring together all of the right people…so that they can do everything necessary for students to experience a good class.”
